about the Dort mall
Opening in the mid 1960’s, the Dort Mall has been home to several tenants and had a few name changes. While it was before known as the Small Mall or Mid America Plaza, the original name, The Dort Mall, was brought back for good when Bob Perani purchased the building in 1996. Mr. Perani, moved his hockey retail store to the mall and began leasing space. His collection of antiques and collectibles helped bring more attraction to the mall as well. Since Mr. Perani has purchased the mall, several improvements to the building have occurred from 1996 to 2022 to improve the building and the safety of everyone at the mall. As of May 31, 2022, the mall is 96% occupied and continues to receive inquiries about available space.
